STYLE GURU STYLE: More Denim Please!

It’s been done before but has it been done like this?

This week I am finally rocking a denim on denim outfit. The denim on denim trend has been out for a while now and over the summer, I was all about it. I worked it a bunch because I could wear shorts and expose a little skin to break up the monochromatic outfit but this week I took a risk and wore it literally from shoulder to ankle. Denim on denim can be a little overwhelming because many people are used to seeing others wear denim solely on the top or solely on the bottom half of an outfit. However, if done correctly, the denim on denim look can be a very sexy and fun outfit.

I took inspiration from the super dope, crazy but amazing Moschino fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection. I always fall in love with everything Moschino and for that, I bow down to Mr. Jeremy Scott and his beautiful mind.

Personally for denim on denim outfits, I like when the different pieces (i.e. top or bottom) are different washes of denim. Therefore, I picked a lighter wash for my top half. I believe it draws attention and brightens up my upper half, while pointing out the simple gold body chain detail underneath.

I then slipped on one of my favorite pair of boyfriend jeans. These exact ones are from a Zara collection a couple seasons ago and are still super rich in color and extremely comfortable. The rips are placed perfectly and aren’t too excessive, like some of my other jeans.

In the Moschino look, the model brings her look together by wearing some gold pumps. I, unfortunately, do not own fabulous metallic gold pumps, so I improvised by pairing my golden tan shoes to the look. These suede beauties are literally short and sweet. I love the color, texture and the height of them simply because I can pair them with something casual like jeans or something formal like a dress. They are easy to walk in and add a pop of love to any ensemble.

Get My Look: 1. A chambray button-down. 2. Perfectly ripped boyfriend jeans. 3. Tan suede pumps.
