After a long two months of the beginning of the semester, spring break is finally here which means travel time and vacation. After a quick flight to Los Angeles, I landed on the West Coast greeted with a cool breeze and temperatures that hit a whopping high of 68 with a couple days of 70 degrees. For the California locals, this weather was a bit chilly; some bundled up in North Face puffer vests or fleece, but for me, this was paradise.
Since the weather is a bit warmer over on the west side, these California Fashionistas have the ability to implement more details in their daily outfits even throughout the winter season. Specifically the trend of patterned skinny jeans. Patterned pants are stylish, can be dressed up or dressed down and can add a certain uniqueness and flair to any outfit. However, most people identify the pattern trend with the spring season. This Fashionista takes the spring trend and modifies it to fit the winter season because of the other individual pieces she pairs with the pants. Additionally, the black and white colors in the snakeskin pattern are two colors that are typically associated with the winter season.
Patterned pants are a trend that can be worn seasonally when paired with the right individual pieces. There are various options of patterned pants for the winter season, like leopard or even a pair of camouflage skinnies. Since the pants are the detail piece of the outfit, it is vital to opt for simple neutral tops to allow the pants to make a statement. Even though the weather is still cold, implement some pattern into your typical every day pair of jeans. Make a bold choice and dare to be different!
How To: Just got a new pair of patterned jeans but unsure if they are winter appropriate? Pair them with an oversized sweater or cardigan in a neutral shade. To stay warm throw on a scarf or beanie also in a neutral tone to complete the outfit.
