Like many of you, I love following designers and their runway collections each season. It’s so much fun to take the trends and incorporate them into your own look with pieces from your closet! One piece I have seen countless times these past few months is Burberry’s monogrammed cape. Everyone from Cara Delevigne to Sarah Jessica Parker (hello Carrie Bradshaw!) to Olivia Palermo has been spotted with this personalized cape. With Olivia Palermo being my ultimate style crush, anything she wears is instant inspiration for me.
Blanket scarves have proved to be a staple accessory this past season. I wear mine on every occasion possible! Wanting to emulate the look of that amazing Burberry cape, I decided to take my favorite blanket scarf and belt it into a cape in order to achieve the look. The American Eagle Outfitters scarf I chose consisted of black, white and gray. When I first spotted it, I thought it was a nice change from the typical beige and red combos.
To achieve my look I simply draped the scarf over a basic black tank and belted it with a vintage camel colored belt that was my mom’s. I paired this with my favorite boyfriend jeans, also from American Eagle Outfitters. I finished off my ensemble by wearing a pair of ankle boots to complement the belt. I may not be Carrie Bradshaw, but I think my pieces from American Eagle Outfitters allowed me to pull off a pretty amazing look!
