The designers of London Fashion Week featured a wide range of berry tones on the fall 2015 catwalk. Mary Katrantzou had fun with soft pinks and bold fuchsia by incorporating those hues in coats, tops and dresses. She was not alone, as Erdem jumped onto the same bandwagon with a splatter of prints featuring such lovely pinkish tones on dresses. The bold berry tones were a delight to see, what with the onslaught of monochromatic looks we have seen of late. It was definitely a breath of fresh air.
I decided to incorporate pink into my look this week as a way of emphasizing my new hair color. As I was scouring through ASOS for a proper bag that I could easily toss all my books and school necessities into, I came across this neon pink see-through bag. It was perfect. Thus, for a day filled with midterm assignments, I threw on a black printed halterneck dress with a moto jacket to keep me warm in the morning. To further streamline my look, I opted for a pair of black lace-up boots. By wearing an all-black ensemble, my neon pink bag was sure to make a statement along with my hair that added another range of berry tones into my overall look. As the dress is a tad bit sheer, I wore a strapless bikini top splattered with pink and purple shades and a high-waisted skirt to keep it modest.
By adding accents of berry tones into my outfit, I breathed new life into a dull all-black ensemble. As the sun graces us for a longer period of time, it is definitely time to break out the colors to welcome it with open arms.
