With spring recruitment for fraternities and sororities coming to a close, it is time to start thinking about what to wear to date parties and formals! For men it is easy to just throw on a generic suit or khakis and a button-down shirt, but why not take some risks for these exciting events?
Now that spring is quickly approaching, bright colors are beginning to emerge once again. This student veers from the traditional black, gray or navy suit and wears a blue one, instead. Although the suit is plain in its style, the color catches a passerby’s eye and makes the look more unique. The color is a subtle blue hue, but it is still unexpected and different enough to set the suit apart from others that are made similarly. Since the suit itself is the main focus of the outfit, it is paired with a white button-down dress shirt and a skinny black silk tie.
An important thing to keep in mind when sporting a suit is the fit. There is nothing worse than an ill-fitted suit. It is worth the money to invest in tailoring to make the suit look like it was made to be worn by each individual.
One Simple Change: For a class presentation you can substitute the dress pants for khakis. This makes the outfit more casual, but is still dressed up enough to impress a professor. Also, switching the tie for a bowtie allows the wearer to make the ensemble unique to their personal style without being flashy.
