Here at Northern Arizona University, when style falls flat, most girls go to leggings, boots and a flannel, so you can imagine the assortment of boots you see on campus. Mostly, you see a riding or a combat boot; however, girls on the Northern Arizona University campus love country music festivals so of course they own quite a few pairs of cowboy boots.
Now I have never considered myself a country girl, and most times I cringe at the idea of country clothes or country music (but, of course, not at the country boys). However, I have found a trend that I can really get used to; the idea of the chic cowgirl. This trend has subtle hints of cowgirl classics, but it doesn’t appear so in your face country.
This Fashionista is the perfect example of country-chic. She wore a rustic pair of cowgirl boots that are perfect for any occasion, dark denim skinny jeans and an adorable white detailed blouse. The white blouse has a strong country feel through the shapes and patterns made in its stitching, while the boots really pull together the entire country look.
This Fashionista appears sleek, clean and chic. Her outfit is appropriate for any and all occasions. This same country-chic idea can be used in a bunch of different ways. If you want to wear a dress with cowgirl boots, throw on a tailored jacket over the dress so there is a juxtaposition between minimalism and country, therefore creating a chic country style ensemble.
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “I’m all about sneakers right now. I love to find different ways to wear a good pair of sneakers.”
