There is no better time than the season of spring to swap out burly, dark winter boots, parkas and hats for light color palettes, flowy dresses and cheerful spring coats. Spring is quickly approaching here in the city of Chicago, and bright colors are running rampant on the streets. I’ll never forgot reading in a Nylon article that “spring is the time for a little more pep in your step and colors galore.”
This Fashionista’s magenta peacoat was the perfect pop of color to her outfit, as I was immediately drawn to it walking past her on the way to class. Hitting just above the knee, her peacoat is a classic transitional piece from winter to spring, and the wooly texture is not too heavy or too light for the unpredictable weather here in the city. What I loved most was how her peacoat fastened around her waist, accentuating her figure and keeping the look cute and complete.
Sporting a Louis Vuitton tote for all of her books and adorable black sunglasses to block out the peeping sun, this Fashionista aced the seasonal test in style. Her gold jewelry pairs effortlessly with her navy blue skater dress, creating a great color arrangement for all people passing by her. Color coding with her dress, her navy blue knee-high socks add another pop of color to her outfit, peeping ever so slightly out of her brown leather boots. In addition to her peacoat, the white cardigan she is rocking will keep her warm and modestly covered while sitting through class lectures.
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Play up your outfit with peacoats! They come in all colors and textures, so it’s easy for anyone to find one they love!”
