As the snow melts, at least for you Northerners, and faux fur jackets turn into fringe vests, we prepare ourselves for the most wonderful time of the year (and no, I am not talking about Christmas). Festival season is right around the corner! Festival season is an awesome way to see your favorite artists, dance in open fields and show off your favorite festival trends. Festival season has become a fashion week (or month) in itself. Many summer trends emerge from these fiestas. So stay ahead of the game and prepare yourself for a fabulous time.
There are many routes to take with festival fashion and I got my bohemian inspiration from BCBGMAXAZRIA’s spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection. BCBG, being a California-based brand, has always portrayed a carefree look which is perfect for festivals. This line was full of loose shirts and dresses with defined waistlines. I took a lot of what Lubov Azria put on her runway and gave it a more daytime, festival feel.
A big thing to keep in mind when deciding on a festival outfit is weather. With it being an international phenomenon, the weather is forever different. While in some places you may find it easy to throw on a jacket if it gets chilly at night, in others the last thing you are thinking about is a jacket. So be smart and check the weather, just as you should before dressing for any occasion!
