STLYE GURU STYLE: Shapely Sweaters

If there is one thing I look forward to all year long, it’s my favorite designers’ spring lines. As I know, many of you can probably relate. This year, a line that caught me eye was Tanya Taylor’s spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection. Her use of bright colors and geometric patterns is a risk that I am definitely willing to take. Not only are those styles combined, but she tucks it all under jackets and coats that tie the look together. Tanya Taylor has perfected the spring patterns and colors that will set the stage for the rest of the year.

With this look, I tried to combine the geometric-patterned sweater and the fun, bright colors Taylor had incorporated in her collections. The sweater I chose has the sunny color yellow alternating with the baby blue. The dark gray stripes keep the sweater grounded and not too childish. The sweater, which I tucked in, gives the look shape so it isn’t too baggy under the denim. The layered outerwear makes the look acceptable for fall and can be transformed into a spring look. The olive color of the outerwear gives the outfit a more fall feel. I especially enjoy this coat because of the puffy texture; it really gives the outfit a playful edge.

Tanya Taylor’s 2015 line mixes the spring colors we all know and love with patterns that will make anyone standout. This line was so sophisticated yet playful, giving me inspiration to spruce up my looks. Fun patterns can instantly change a look from fall-funk to spring-sweet! I recommend using this line as inspiration for date nights (these colors scream flirty girl) or a night on the town with the girls.

Get My Look: 1. An olive coat. 2. Shoes with old school flare. 3. Geometric sweater with sweet colors.
