This Ohio State University student caught my eye when I spotted his Leaders 1354 hat in the Short North Arts District in downtown Columbus. For anybody who may not be familiar with the brand, Leaders 1354 has consistently been ranked as one of the top 50 sneaker boutiques in the entire country. It’s a Chicago staple and it is always cool to see its appreciation in the Midwest.
Not only did this student show love for a Chicago staple, but a Columbus staple as well. Kings Rowe was born in the heart of downtown Columbus and has contributed to the one of a kind culture that thrives here in Columbus in a big way. For me it is always refreshing to see someone supporting a small boutique rather than a big retail store.
The other thing that caught my eye were this Fashionisto’s one of a kind sneakers. They were a unique collaboration with Vans and Taka Hayashi, a pair of shoes that are a part of the Vans Vault collection. The Vans Vault collection is a collection of shoes that are sold only to boutiques that partner with Vans for the collection. A common theme of his outfit was staying away from what you can buy at your local PacSun or Zumiez shop, something I’m a large advocate for.
STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: “Whether it’s buying from somebody local or finding a pair of sneakers that you couldn’t find online anywhere, look for something unique to incorporate to your outfit.”
