As they say, the fashion industry can be tough. However, this Fashionista will be more than prepared to handle the competitiveness. As an honors student and double major, Sabrina Pierotti is also the Project Manager of Kent State University’s Fashion Student Organization (FSO). Even better, she is also a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista (be sure to check out her articles here).
Name: Sabrina Pierotti
Role: Project Manager, Fashion Student Organization
CollegeFashionista: What are your day-to-day tasks as Project Manager of FSO?
Sabrina Pierotti: As Project Manager, I respond to a lot of emails from members, especially when show time is approaching. I am constantly pairing designers and stylists with models and contacting different services on campus when preparing for a fashion show. During our biggest show in the fall, I did a lot of paperwork regarding our venue, costs, parking services and food, as well.Â
CF: What made you decide to go to school for Fashion Merchandising?
SP: I have always been a creative person, so I wanted a career that would allow me to be creative in ways other than theater or art. One day my friend told me about visual merchandising, and after doing research on the entire Fashion Merchandising field, I knew that this perfect mix of business and fashion is where I was meant to be!
CF: What would your dream job in this industry be?
SP: My dream job would have to be a fashion director of a retail corporation or fashion magazine. I also have a passion for marketing, so getting the opportunity to market for a fashion brand, as well, would be a dream come true.
CF: What are your plans here at Kent, as well as in FSO, in the coming years?
SP: Next fall I plan to study abroad in Florence, Italy which I’m super stoked about! Also, when I return to Kent the spring 2016 semester I will be one of the co-VPs of FSO! I am looking forward to what the future holds for both FSO and my two remaining years at Kent.
