Leave it to Yves Saint Laurent to mix the creme de la creme of tutus with the sharpest leather pieces you thought possible. The Saint Laurent fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection was the fairy-punk wonderland that we have all been secretly waiting for. Although it is a little out of my comfort zone, I can’t resist how cool these pieces look. Yes, they are a little punk rock, but not in the dreaded Hot Topic sense. It’s more like a chic, revamped ’80s Madonna just strutted onto runway to show us how fashion is done.
So how do we Floridians encompass this awesome collection in our awkward phase between the frigid chills and sweltering heat? This Fashionista will show you how.
Her color palette is not only on point, but her selection of textures and fit are as well. Like this Yves Saint Laurent look, she has the perfect confection between striking edge and soft femininity.
Her chiffon, off white blouse is a great transition piece for spring. It looks charming with her dazzling statement necklace; the sweet simplicity of it is perfect for any addition of sparkle! Even more so, the flowiness of the blouse is not only flattering, but a great contrast to her shorts as well.
Instead of wearing a blush pastel short, this Fashionista took a more unconventional route, like Saint Laurent, and opted for a fitted, black leather short. Even though she was sporting two very different looks in one outfit, each look offset the other beautifully.
It is refreshing to see a bit of texture now and then. If you are considering adding a leather garment to your closet this spring, I would highly recommend a pair of leather shorts like these. After all, they will look great with all of your pastel blouses. Simply take a note from Yves Saint Laurent and this Fashionista to make your spring chic and fabulous!
