Adam Lippes fall 2015 ready-to-wear went beyond my expectations. The play between monochromatic outfits and a floral design that appears in multiple pieces was done so perfectly. This line is one that I keep looking back to for inspiration in my own wardrobe. What made me fall in love with this line was the floral pattern used for such different pieces. There aren’t many floral designs that can work as well for a cocktail dress as they can for a full pant suit, but these definitely do it all. I have had a love for monochromatic looks for as long as I can remember, but this floral pattern played a huge impact on what I want to be wearing this spring.
This line made me branch out, and I couldn’t be happier about it. I am shorter in stature, so I’ve stayed away from palazzo pants, especially ones with a pattern throughout. After seeing the floral print on a bunch of pieces, I figured why not? I always felt like wearing oversized pants made me look shorter, but I think I’ve got down a strategy to prevent that from happening. The answer: a tank top and wedges. With less material on top and a pair of wedges to add a little height, I now feel comfortable rocking palazzo pants. I’ve always had more of a laid back style, so these pants are the perfect way to take what I loved from Adam Lippes fall line and make it fit for my own look.
Adding a hat and a few simple pieces of jewelry is what I love to do with most of my outfits. I rarely wear statement pieces because I can never make up my mind on what to pair with my outfits. By having more simplistic pieces, I am able to mix and match without having my accessories overpower my ensembles. Palazzo pants make a big statement, so by accenting them with more subtle pieces ensures that my look doesn’t seem too busy.
