STYLE GURU STYLE: Jump For Joy

Thin fabric, wide-leg pants and spring patterns are reminiscent of ‘70s fashion. The clothing of this time reflects the values of the era, free thought and expression. This is the exact vibe that I wanted to embrace when I went to the beach for Spring Break. As I got to spend a few days away from campus, I wanted to leave my worries behind and enjoy the warm weather.

I was inspired by a look from A.W.A.K.E.’s spring 2015 line. Look nine is totally ‘70s-chic. I could see any Fashionista rocking this with platform shoes and round, tinted sunglasses. I wanted to adapt this look to something that was a little more beach appropriate. So, I pulled out my favorite jumpsuit that also has an intricate pattern and wide leg pants.

As the staple of my outfit, my jumpsuit is everything I want it to be: super comfortable, flowy and cute. My favorite detail is how the pattern changes at the bottom of the pant leg. I paired this with my light denim jacket, which I believe has a much more beachy feel than dark denim. To contrast this, I went for all black accessories. I’m sporting a black fringe bag and a black wide brim hat that I believe are perfectly ‘70s-like accessories. My last details are black flip flops and a simple pink pendant necklace.

This was the perfect outfit to wear for walking around town, going on terrifying roller coasters and of course, taking countless crazy pictures with my friends. I would recommend ‘70s-inspired trends for anyone going on a relaxing, fun-packed vacation.

Get My Look: 1. A pair of patterned palazzo pants. 2. A straw beach hat. 3. A bag with fringe.
