CollegeFashionista: What is Stiletto by Annie about?
Annie De Hoyos: We are a firm of consultants in image, fashion and style. Our intention is not to dress you up as something you’re not, if not help to define it and reflect it through your image and grooming. This can be done through our personal styling, makeup and hairstyles courses.
CF: What were some of your most exciting moments as a business owner?
AH: I don’t have just one! To give service to a new client or simply have returning ones is extremely exciting! Everyone in the world is different. People have different ideas and styles. I believe it’s a challenge to get to know these different points of view and to use that information to find the right style for that particular person.
CF: Where do you see yourself and your business in five years?
AH: In my personal life, I see myself not only as a mother and a wife but also as a businesswoman who’s passionate about her family and her job. I’ve always admired those women who fight every single day to have a united family with love and that reach their full potential. I see my business as a way to reach that and hopefully by then my business grows in size and has stability.
CF: What advice would you give to young women that want to start their own business?
AH: I believe that we can go as far as we want. As women, we are passionate by nature. My personal advice would be that you keep yourself grounded when you reach your goal. Your life can completely turn around in a second. As great as it is to be on top, you need to remember that you can fall back down. It is important to recognize that we are human beings! Be humble and treat everyone equally and with respect.
