Traditionally, the color white is only supposed to be worn between Memorial Day and Labor Day. In recent years, fashion retailers have been testing these limitations by providing white clothing options prior to the summer season. Consumers have responded particularly well to the early instillation of white clothing and accessories. This year in particular, white seems to be flooding into department stores premature to the traditional timeframe. Speaking from personal experience, you will not catch me dead wearing white during the “off-season.” I consider white to be a special color that should only be worn in the summer at the beach or as the bride at a wedding.
If, for some reason, I happen to have a sudden change of values and decide to wear white during spring, I will take some tips from this Fashionsta. These white skinny jeans may not look like much, but they are doing more than meets the eye. The fit of the jeans is extremely flattering. Straps from the brown sandals meet the hemline of the jeans perfectly at the ankle to provide an elongated illusion. To add to the elongated illusion, the blouse overlaps with the top of the jeans, which again thins out the Fashionista’s silhouette.
Other than blue jeans, white jeans are among the simplest apparel items to pair with any article of clothing. White jeans can even be styled with white shirts and white shoes. The possibilities seem to be endless for white jeans, including the time of year in which they are appropriate to be worn. In the near future, we may see wearing the color white at all times of the year to be considered on-trend.
