STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Don't Get Mad, Get Plaid

Put away the cowboy boots and break out the Timberlands because flannel shirts aren’t just for cute country boys anymore. Flannel shirts, in my opinion, are a part of the most versatile trend that has ever started. There are just so many different ways to wear them, and they can fit to anyone’s wardrobe, no matter what their style is. Flannel shirts go great when worn open over a graphic T-shirt, a crop top or a simple cami. Buttoned up with skinny jeans and a statement necklace, a flannel adds the perfect balance of masculinity and femininity to an outfit. We all have that one trusty flannel that we can throw on over anything, run out the door and make it look as though our outfit was carefully chosen. This Fashionista shows us how she wears her favorite flannel.

This Fashionista’s favorite flannel is dark blue with white and pink details. She wears it open over a simple black cami. She pairs this with rolled up skinny jeans. My favorite part of her outfit is her shoes. These black lace-up Timberlands give this outfit an edgy and hipster vibe. This outfit is perfect for almost any occasion—class, hanging out with friends or a night out.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “I think flannels are a necessity in everyone’s closet. Flannels make it so easy to switch up your outfit and put a new twist on it. I tend to look for flannels in a neutral color so they will go with more.”
