When it comes to fashion shows that encompass trends that can be displayed during any season, the recent fall 2015 ready-to-wear show by kate spade new york was a killer. The styles ranging from dramatic jackets, cute skirts and dresses to pant outfits cover anything you might wear during any season. The neutral color palette of navy blue, beige and cream allowed the pops of pink and red to really stand out. Along with the bright pinks and reds among the collection were some stand out patterned skirts and jackets. Although the bright colors and patterns were eye-catching, my favorite aspect of the collection lies within a simpler idea. In my opinion the most awe-inspiring portion of the collection is the bright pink pieces paired with a rich navy blue (I’m sure the fact that I am naturally drawn to pink may have helped catch my eye as well!). The two colors complement each other in a way not many would think, the pink brightens the entire look and creates something new and fresh.
I tend to be the queen of showing off a neutral ensemble and throwing in a pop of color, but I can’t say I frequently thought of choosing navy as my neutral hue. So today I decided to take some cues from kate spade and rock a navy and pink look. One of my favorite parts of choosing navy as my neutral color is that you can easily incorporate it into an everyday look by wearing a dark wash denim jean. I decided to pair my favorite and darkest skinny jeans with a navy blue graphic T-shirt to complete my neutral look. For my pop of color, I went to my array of pink options and I was super excited to show of my new bright pink jacket for a dramatic look. I had been looking forward to wearing this jacket ever since I got it and when I saw this collection I had the perfect outfit inspiration! I finished off the outfit with some nude heels and some navy accessories.
This new show inspired me to try out some new neutral color combinations and obviously encouraged my love for a pop of pink no matter what the outfit is. I was so excited to see that I was able to successfully turn my favorite look from the collection into a more casual every day outfit. I encourage everyone who loves their neutral wardrobe to be adventurous, pick out a bright and colorful piece to transform your look and make a statement whenever you enter a room!
