The sun is shining longer each day. The sun feels warmer and brighter, even when it’s poking through the clouds. The smell of spring is on the breeze, in the growing grass and in the just-blooming flowers. Even though the temperature hardly made it to 40 today, it is definitely spring.
Every spring, floral reemerges as a go-to pattern. And why shouldn’t it? Flowers mimic the rebirth of nature and add a warm weather vibe to any outfit. Plus, there is a floral print for everybody. If your style is more girly and feminine, small, light-colored florals look adorable and girlish. Are you more on the edgy side? Try big, dark flowers to give off a moody vibe. If you are feeling bohemian, go for multicolored flowers in rich, deep colors.
This week’s Fashionista knows that now is the time for floral. She started off with a floral T-shirt in cool colors such as blue and purple. To keep warm and protect herself from the drizzle, she added a green anorak. A pair of skinny jeans and boat shoes kept the focus on the shirt, and a big watch and beaded bracelet added interest.
The great thing about floral is that it can be paired with anything. A floral T-shirt can be paired with a denim or leather jacket, jeans, a skirt or layered over a dress. If you are feeling daring, try pattern mixing with stripes, polka-dots or a contrasting floral print.
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “I think it’s important to look classy and feel comfortable at the same time. I’m at my best in a pair of jeans and a cute top. Simple outfits are often the ones that grab the most attention.”
