As spring makes its way into the weather in Pittsburgh and the mindset of Pittsburghers, everyone has a little more pep in their step. Suddenly, we all are thinking of fun things to do outdoors, activities to fill our time as spring semester comes to a close and new places to go. “What oh what is there to do!?” you might hear someone saying, “Pittsburgh is boring,” another (outsider, of course) might say. Well, though Pittsburgh has endless events and recreation to offer, concerts are near the top of the list for most—we’re all music lovers. Though Pittsburgh isn’t really a popular stop on most artists’ tours, there are plenty that realize Pittsburgh is the place to be and will be coming here. This, however, poses a crisis: what should I wear?!
Well, ladies and gentlemen (except mostly gentlemen for this post), this Fashionisto has the perfect concert attire. Though the summer months will be bringing even warmer weather, lots of concerts take place inside, so this outfit is built to last. Since men’s fashion is much more limited for warm weather wear than women’s fashion, jeans are a staple in a man’s wardrobe. To get even more specific, I’d say black jeans are a definite staple for every guy out there (if I have not made that clear yet). Black jeans can go with pretty much anything, but pairing them with a lightweight button-down is a smart look. It gives the outfit a put-together feel, while the hat balances that out by making it more casual. The stripe down the side of the button-down gives the outfit even more interest, making it unique without it being too busy. As for another staple in any guy’s wardrobe, a really nice pair of boots are up there. Yes, you might have to drop a couple hundred dollars on a pair that are good quality, but they’ll prove to be durable and last you a long time. Own these few staples, and any outfit you wear will look as if your style is honed and sharp.
Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Dawes, of Montreal, Foxygen, Modest Mouse, Tame Impala, My Morning Jacket… so many good people coming to Pittsburgh in the near future, so you’ve got to be ready with some good outfits. Take a page out of this Fashionisto’s book, and you’ll be well-prepared.
One Simple Change: A little too hot out for pants? Swap the jeans for a pair of black shorts for a similar look on a summer night.
