The Fashion and Retail Society’s fashion show has officially come and gone, but not without great pictures to prove how amazing it was. The show featured 38 looks inspired by the ’60s that mixed with a contemporary style. From anxiously awaiting the raffle winner announcement to consuming far too many mini cupcakes and spring rolls, the entire experience of the show was amazing. This Fashionista sported a cute black skater shirt, a colorful tank top and a black blazer that made her stand out as an attendee. She tells us her favorite parts and why she enjoyed the show.
Name: Jessica Fortier
Role: Rad Fashion Show Attendee
CollegeFashionista: Tell us more about what you wore at the show and what inspired your outfit choice.
Jessica Fortier: I wore a black circle skirt with leather details, black tights and black flats. I tucked in a colorful patterned tank top into the skirt and threw on a black blazer to pull the look together. I tied in the patent leather seen on my shoes with a black patent leather kate spade bag. Lastly, I topped off the look with a dainty bracelet. The style of kate spade inspired my polished look.
CF: What was your favorite part of the entire experience?
JF: Seeing fellow NU students walk the runway. I admire the models because it takes a lot of confidence to strut down the runway.
CF: What was your favorite look on the runway?
JF: The USTrendy Floral & Diamond Print Short-sleeve Smock Dress was my favorite look because the silhouette was clearly inspired by the ’60s, yet the print was a bit more contemporary. Mixing the old with the new provides great contrast. The dress was similar to sleek and modern style of mods from the ’60s.
CF: How would you describe the atmosphere of the show in three words?
JF: sleek, ’60s-inspired and confident.
