When spring arrives and the sun finally starts shining after what seems like forever, my first instinct is to break out bright colors and light fabrics. However, I always have a tough time breaking up with some of my favorite cold-weather essentials like moccasins and patterned leggings. While it’s nice to be comfortable and stylish rather than having to hide under layers of sweatshirts and scarves just to be relatively comfortable, I always find myself trying to find the perfect compromise between my winter and summer wardrobes. Traditional transition pieces like denim jackets and leather booties have always been my saving grace, but this Fashionista proved that with a little creativity, any winter piece can be worn well into springtime.
Mix and match is key and is a skill that this Fashionista has certainly mastered. Would you ever have guessed that her drop-crotch harem pants were actually a jumpsuit? I definitely wouldn’t have, but by layering her floral jumpsuit and sunny henley, she created a base for her outfit that could have been accessorized for almost any season.
That said, this Fashionista’s accessory choices were almost as bright as the day itself. Her tie-dye headband brought even more color to her vibrant look, but her choice in shoes was what really caught my eye. Instead of putting her moccasins away for the winter, this Fashionista geared them up for spring. By choosing light fabrics with flowing fits instead of leggings, jeans or yoga pants, she created an effortless boho look which she then completed with a leather fanny pack.
