The flowers are blooming, the sun is shining, the birds are chirping, but can it really be? Has spring finally sprung? Indeed it has, and it’s about time. On a Sunday, I couldn’t wait to break out the bright florals and ditch my parka for good!
The alice + olivia resort 2015 collection is stunning and definitely inspired this particular ensemble. This collection is all about fun, whimsy patterns and flowers galore! I knew I wanted to wear something that embodied the fresh spring season but still stayed true to my personal style in not being too flashy.
I found a perfect balance with my blush-colored shift dress that is splashed in colorful shades of pink and blue. I loved how the dress had a structured look to it, just like many of the pieces in the alice + olivia collection. I also really loved how the sleeves kept the dress modest and not frump-tastic!
My absolute favorite part about this dress has to be the back. I’ve never been one to think that I can pull off cutouts, but I’ve realized that virtually anyone can. The cutouts just have to be in the right place. I thought this subtle triangular cutout in the back was just adorable without showing too much.
I finished off my look with a simple pair of nude pumps to keep the focus on the dress. I also went with a blue ombré handbag to add an additional punch of color and fun to the overall ensemble.
