The ladies and gentleman of NOiR Runway Fashion are putting on their best attire and strutting their stuff this Saturday in their annual spring fashion show. The show, Origins: NOIREVOLUTION is being held at the historic Crisler Arena as the first non-sports organization event. This show’s proceeds will fund Children’s Literacy Network in Ann Arbor and the Ypsilanti Boys & Girls Club.
Name: Chloe Chung
Role: Model
CollegeFashionista: What are you most excited about for the show?
Chloe Chung: Just the opportunity to do such different scenes! It’s really cool to be able to work with different people in different ways throughout the show. I’m really excited to wear Yoshi’s, a designer who specializes in handmade clothing designs. He’s providing the collection for the androgynous scene and it’s all handmade and very cool.
CF:How is this show different from others you have been in?
CC: This has a lot of different types of walks, and unique scenes to showcase the clothes and the models. There are a few interaction walks as well, that’s something really interesting about this show.
CF:Can you tell me more about the volunteer work the club emphasizes?
CC: So every model is required volunteer for the Boys and Girls club in Ypsilanti, which will be one of our charities. We are there to be a playmate and mentor for them. We also try to boost their self-esteem and just make them have fun for a few hours. I had so much fun with the kids, I really connected with one girl who drew me a picture and it was really sweet.
CF: What does NOiR’s motto “Be Bold. Be Kind. Be You” mean to you?
CC: It means expressing yourself in whatever way you see fit. It could mean your fashion sense, how you go about your life, your hobbies. Basically, it’s how you live your life.
