Why not have throwback Thursday every day? Constantly updating your wardrobe as a broke college student isn’t realistic, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have a little fun with your style. When you can’t buy new clothes it can be easy to fall into the habit of wearing the easy staple of jeans and a T-Shirt. Or better yet, throwing on whatever clothes you find on the floor. You might feel like your whole wardrobe needs an update, but when the bank can’t support those dreams, a vintage peacoat can.
I think a peacoat is so easily overlooked as a closet staple. That being said, it really is an easy and simple way to add a flair to an outfit. The peacoat is perfect for all seasons, and depending on what its worn with, can be rocked night or day. Depending on the weather, a peacoat can be worn with a cute spring dress or can be paired with a scarf, sweater and a pair of neon heels to really jazz things up on a stormy day.
What drew me to this outfit was the retro, “Mad Men” vibes I got. I’m a sucker for vintage, particularly anything from the 1920s, so I found myself pleasantly surprised when I loved a look more reminiscent of the ’50s. I think it’s amazing to see a woman who has style that plays on the past yet remains original. Even better, I love when an outfit update is as simple and cheap as a bright colored peacoat.
