The spring months bring with them timeless trends that power the runways and streets. One of these trends, and my personal favorite, is florals. While they are a staple in most wardrobes, there is always a way to keep florals edgy and fashionable to match the current times.
Florals have changed over so many decades because of their adaptability into any style of clothing. Presently, I feel that florals have kept their classic aesthetic but incorporate a subtle edginess. Florals can be mixed and matched with different patterns and textures, giving them a new and fresh look, just in time for spring!
Looking at this Fashionista, you can tell why the floral trend has prevailed all these spring seasons. She told me that her mother styled her classic look with a floral pencil mini skirt but added some edge with a white crop top with a floral overlay. The look illustrated how two different types of florals, as well as textures, can be used to create an overall cohesive look. Adding a pop of pink with her cross-body bag straps while keeping the bag and shoes neutral kept the look centered on her floral pieces. This Fashionista shows that by mixing and matching her textures and patterns, the floral trend will always be a spring staple so long as there’s a little twist.
