The spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection from Altuzarra was impeccable. The fresh and flirty element of each ensemble was enough to captivate the crowd. The runway was a myriad of classic staple pieces with an edgy flare. Altuzarra added his modern touch to retro pieces. I love this designer’s ability to transform timeless staples with subtle details. The structure and tailoring of the collection was sensational, which alludes to a more professional and causal feel. This collection fosters a wardrobe for sophisticated women that desire comfort, style and femininity.
So today I drew inspiration from Altuzarra’s collection. I’m sporting a pale blue and white striped shirtdress mirroring the black and white shirtdress seen in the collection. I paired my ensemble with a tan belt and my favorite tan ankle boots. I’ve always been a little apprehensive to wear a shirtdress, but Altuzarra has showed me that this trend is perfectly appropriate for any causal or professional occasion. My ensemble is fresh, but edgy due to the fact that my dress is a bit of a fashion risk.
This spring 2015 show has inspired me to take retro looks and alter them by adding your own flare. The results show that sometimes a simpler look is better. Altuzarra has allowed me to realize that although an ensemble may not be glitzy, it can still turn some heads. I definitely won’t hesitate to rock the shirtdress trend in the future. Thanks to Altuzarra, I see that taking risks with a simple and classy look pays off!
