Thanks to SpongeBob, everyone knows that the best time to wear a striped sweater is all the time. In this case the same is true for a blazer. Stripes can be great all year round but lately they have been seen a lot on the runways. Dianne von Furstenberg’s spring 2015 collection featured some trendy prints including black and white stripes. This is actually one of my personal favorites because it can be worn in so many ways. There are also so many variations that I’ve seen; it’s crazy what these simple lines can turn your outfit into.
It seems like presentations have just been consuming my entire life lately. Every time I turn around I have a new one to prepare for. Thankfully this is the last of the semester. However, since I am a Marketing major, it is essential for me to wear proper business dress to present. Of course this isn’t a problem for me because I already love dressing up. There are several ways to achieve a professional look. One way is to take the traditional blazer and pants and change it based on your personal style. It is also a good idea to consider the season and what is most flattering for your body to type.
This outfit is more business casual for when you have a little freedom with the dress code. Blazers automatically dress up any outfit. Throw it on over a pair of jeans and it instantly gives a more professional look. Rather than a typical tailored trouser, I went for a more comfortable, loose fitting, soft pant. To brighten up the look for spring, this green blouse served as the perfect pop of color. Also staying within the comfortable theme, I opted for flats instead of heels since it’s more practical for running around to classes all day. As for jewelry, a simple watch is just enough to keep it professional.
