The end is near…Graduation here at Washington State is just around the corner as I’m sure it is at many universities around the country. Four years of all-night study sessions, exams and living on the brink of poverty and what do we have to show for it? A run of the mill cap and gown and a very fancy piece of paper with your name on it. Some take this as a cue to not dress their best and blend into the vast sea of soon-to-be graduates wearing their favorite pair of blue jeans and some sneakers. But hey you’ve worked hard for this day so take advantage, look your best and make your parents proud! So how do you stand out in the crowd when that day you’ve been waiting four years for finally arrives? Hint: It’s all about what you wear underneath!
I spotted this week’s Fashionista capturing some Kodak moments for her graduation announcements on the WSU campus shortly after her sorority’s senior sendoff banquet. This Fashionista likes to keep it simple by rocking a gorgeous floral spring dress with a pair of nude platform wedges and a few silver rings. Okay, okay I know what you’re thinking, “Florals? For spring?! Groundbreaking.” Floral print may not be the newest or most groundbreaking pattern but what makes it special is that it’s a classic so you can re-wear this dress for a variety of other occasions, increasing the garment’s price-per-wear.Â
Graduation can be a long ordeal so wearing comfortable shoes is extremely important. The pair of wedges this Fashionista pairs with her ensemble are a great option! The platform wedge helps to give height to elongate your legs while also giving you some support making them easier to walk down the stage to receive your diploma.
One Simple Change:Â To make this outfit go from graduation to celebration, add a small clutch or cross-body bag to keep your phone, lip gloss and debit card for when you hit the town with your fellow graduates! Adding a few light bracelets or a nice watch would add some flare to your wrist which looks great for you’re in your gown for the ceremony or when you head out for the night! Also if you’re not the dress kind of gal a floral romper would be a perfect substitute.
