We can most realistically envision ourselves in ready-to-wear runway show clothes. Fall 2015 brought new trends, revamped trends and trends one simply cannot ignore. One of my favorite ready-to-wear brands is alice + olivia. The brand offers versatile pieces throughout each collection that can fittingly make an appearance in any Fashionista’s closet. The fall 2015 alice + olivia ready-to-wear show particularly caught my eye for its combination of the ‘60s into ‘70s era, with a feminine tuxedo style undertone. Look 31 plays with both aspects of ready-to-wear and formal wear and is the perfect look for me to recreate.
The pants pictured are my favorite pants in my closet. They can be worn from day to night and are appropriate for almost all occasions (if styled correctly, of course). This cropped black pant is paired with a textured, metallic crop top. The two pieces together create a look that can be worn for an evening out with friends or for a hot date night. Adding a black pointed toe heel with a double ankle strap keeps the simplicity of the look while still adding some flare.
Accessories are always very important. As shown on the runway, the look was very understated. In making this look my own and transporting it from the runway to daily life, I decided to add some simple jewelry. I wore statement earrings, a two sided stud—the larger stud on the back and smaller one in the front. With that, I threw on my go-to gold bracelet and a black clutch. The look was complete with just a few of these pieces.
