When I’m looking for inspiration for my outfits, I’m always looking for new colors I could add to my wardrobe that would stand out and be different. Wearing the same colors over and over can get a little boring. In the spring, I’m typically wearing pastel colors to match the mood of the warmer weather and sunny days. However, when I saw Ralph Lauren’s spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection, I thought I would change it up a bit.
In this runway show, the main color was army green. Normally, this is a color I would wear in the fall and winter seasons, but seeing these models working this color with spring outfits made me try otherwise. I decided to try a pair of army green harem pants. Harem pants are one of my favorite fashion trends lately—I’ve bought tons of pairs this season. Not only are they trendy, but they’re light and comfortable to wear during classes in this warmer weather. The ones I’m wearing are simple with no pattern, but the color of them is definitely unique. I based my entire outfit around these pants.
I decided to wear a plain black T-shirt so that I would not draw much attention away from the highlight of my outfit. I also am wearing my new pair of Birkenstock sandals. These sandals are some of the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever had. They are easy to slip on if you’re in a rush and are certainly the type of shoes you can wear all day without having to worry about your feet hurting. To accessorize, I wore a black and silver statement necklace that matches the silver buckles on my sandals. I also threw on my favorite watch and bracelet to bring more personality to my outfit. Lastly, I wore a pair of my sunglasses because the sun is finally bright and shining here at Marist College.
I’m super glad that I tried out a new color for this spring. I think that it brings uniqueness to my outfit and allows me to express myself through my color and style choices.
