Although she is not majoring in fashion she hopes that her degree in journalism will allow her to pursue a career in the writing sector of the fashion industry. CollegeFashionista: How do you hope to concentrate more on fashion within your journalistic studies?Â
Christina Termyna: Well, this summer I will be interning for a fashion merchandising company in the city to get a better feel for the industry. If I have the ability to build my resume with influential fashion companies, I will then have a better chance at becoming a writer in the fashion world. Also, after I receive my undergraduate degree I would like to acquire my masters in Fashion Journalism.Â
CF: What inspired you to pursue a career in fashion journalism?Â
CT: I have always loved fashion and writing. When I was a little girl I was adamant about picking out my own outfits and writing my daily diary entry. I have always admired the creative aspect of both writing and fashion. In writing, you are able to communicate your ideas clearly, and fashion allows you to formulate the way that others perceive you. I would like to pursue a career in fashion journalism because I want to inspire others with not only the written word, but also the way they present themselves.Â
CF: How would you describe your personal style?
CT: I would say my style is boho-chic. I really love patterned tank tops and kimonos, but also I value basics. Jeans are the best because they look good with anything. I am a firm believer that every girl should own a little black dress. I definitely enjoy trying new trends, but I also like classic looks.
CF: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
CT: Graduated from both Monmouth and wherever I chose to get my masters. I hope to be working in the city for a fashion design company writing a piece on the latest trends of 2025. Hopefully, I’ll have a little girl that I can dress in the latest trends that I write about at work.Â
