It is that assembly of ourselves, the way we “fashion” ourselves to encounter our everyday lives. CollegeFashionista: Why did you choose fashion merchandising?
Helen Hines: I chose fashion merchandising because I am interested in mixing fashion and business. I like the creative side of fashion but also the practical side of business and merchandising is the best of both worlds.
CF: What would be your fashion dream job?
HH: My fashion dream job would be to work for BCBGMAXAZRIA.
CF: What about fashion interests you the most?
HH: Thing that is most interesting about fashion to me is that people have always been concerned about their appearance, even in ancient times people wanted to be fashionable. I think that it is really cool how much affect that fashion has and that people make conscious choices daily on how they present themselves to others.
CF: How would you describe your style?
HH: I would describe my style as very classic, professional and chic.
CF: Whats one thing you wished you could pull off in your style?
HH: I really wish I could pull of the loose flowy bohemian style.
CF: If you had a message to give to anyone interested in pursuing a career in fashion merchandising what would it be?
HH: Be confident in yourself and your style; everyone has a different style and way to express themselves so be assured in who you are, work hard, and love what you do!
