I was inspired by the recent runway show from PatBo for her spring 2015 São Paul collection. The playful yet feminine dresses and flow of each ensemble made me want to wear mini dresses year round. The colors were bold and beautiful, and the different textures incorporated in each design made it much more appealing. What made me love the designs even more was the 3D look of the flowers placed carefully on each design that reminded me of my grandmother’s garden.
I went for it. My dress has big, bold floral prints on it with bright orange lining. I incorporated texture by carrying my vintage, handmade macramé purse with the wooden handle that compliments my brown, chunky heeled sandals. My purse was the statement piece of my overall outfit because it reminded me of the flowers that were on PatBo’s dresses due to its 3D effect. For accessories, I chose my long wooden earrings to add a little change to my look. Although my look is not exactly as bold as PatBo’s runway show, I was encouraged to take a risk and go for big floral prints instead of the usual small prints that everyone is wearing.
This spring show motivated me to step outside of the box. The result is not too much, as I had originally thought it would be. It is powerful, fun and flirty, and I will definitely incorporate this trend much more in the future!
