As the old saying goes, “April showers bring May flowers,” and this spring, flowers are not only blooming in our gardens, but in our closets as well. Bouquets of bold and bright colors are appearing on blouses, dresses, pants and more. In my mind, floral is a classic print that takes on different variations each season. While this pattern is traditionally known for its feminine and girly vibes, this spring it’s making a bold statement.
This Fashionista paired a black and white floral blouse with black skinnies, strappy sandals and a brown belt. And of course no Fashionista is ready for class until their books are packed in their versatile and useful Longchamp tote. As you can see, this Fashionista took a non-traditional route by wearing a black and white floral print, versus the cliché pastel or bright color palette. This gives the outfit a more edgy and tough façade. I love that she finished off the look with a black white wide rimmed hat. This adds a chic touch to the ensemble which makes it an off duty model duty kind of look.
Keep in mind that floral isn’t limited to only blouses. You can find this pattern in any stable piece of your wardrobe. Floral shift dresses are my personal favorite. So Fashionista’s, let your closet flourish this spring with the floral print’s new bold attitude.
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “I think that people over think style too much. I always try to keep things as simple as possible, but then have one area that pops and people say, oh that’s interesting.”
