A lot of people may think that wearing pants or jeans under a dress is a trend that died out and should be left for dead. In the fashion world, nothing every really dies out because eventually trends come back, but with more of a modern twist to them. This look from Dries Van Noten’s spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection is what inspired me to try out this Mary-Kate and Ashley look circa 2001.
For my look, I decided to keep things simple with a loose-knit longline T-shirt that has the look of what could resemble a dress or a tunic. Loose longline shirts are essential and breathable pieces to have in your wardrobe especially for the hot summer months that are to come. Not only that, but they are very versatile pieces that can turn into or pair up with absolutely anything in your wardrobe. Underneath my T-shirt, I’m wearing a pair of high-waisted jeans and a white tank top due to the fact that the shirt is made out of very sheer material.
Inspired by Dries Van Noten’s look, I kept my accessories to a minimum. I have on a pair of thick gold layered rings, which are an accessory that I can’t seem to take off lately! For shoes, I have on a pair of ultra chic lace-up booties from Urban Outfitters. Putting on a heeled boot is the best way to make your legs look longer, especially when you are wearing a longline shirt.
Get My Look: 1. A breezy longline T-shirt. 2. A pair of killer lace-up booties. 3. Gold stackable ring set.
