I’m not usually the first person to jump at the chance to wear floral patterns. I’m also certainly not one for a head to toe floral look. When I do venture into these prints, I tend to choose small details. At the most, I may opt for a dress. (Though, this is a rare occasion.) This look from the Adam Lippes fall ready-to-wear show, however, inspired me to have the courage to venture out in an all-over floral look. I also loved the dark fabrics that were mixed with the patterns. I thought the navy color in particular brought a balance to the bright florals.
When selecting my own look, I picked a jumper that I thought would be perfect for the rising spring temperatures. While I certainly would love to work something like Lippes’ pantsuit, I’m afraid it likely wouldn’t work for our current weather. This romper, however, managed to keep me cool with its short length and thin fabric. The longer sleeves also helped to balance the outfit.
When choosing accessories, I decided to go for simplicity. I certainly didn’t want anything to outshine the pattern. I found some simple gold jewelry and a belt to help cinch in the romper. When selecting shoes, I’ll admit that I was struggling between a pair of black or heels. While brown heels are perfect for a summer-inspired look, I thought that black heels would better suit the romper’s colors. I decided on the best of both worlds with my brown and black wedges.
Get My Look: 1. A floral romper. 2. Cute wedges. 3. A simple necklace.
