Hello Fashionistas and Fashionistos! I’m Tabitha Loveless of Monroe, Louisiana and I study English at The University of Louisiana at Monroe. This is my first semester at CollegeFashionista and I am just delighted to be a part of such an amazing blog.
My love for fashion and developing my own style grew from what would be the equivalent of a daisy growing from a crack in concrete. I woke up one day when I was in high school and decided that following the standard fads and trends as everyone else was just not the path for me. Though I have never felt okay with conforming when it comes to my style, I am not afraid to admit when a trend is genius and worthy of praise for innovation and beauty.
I’m always enamored by new and surprising ways classics make their way into the modern era. I inherited a lot of my grandmother’s vintage shoes and jewelry, that I wear a piece from almost every day. In this outfit, I’m wearing her wind-up watch and vintage ankle-tie sandals.
There are usually a lot of different fashion eras represented in every outfit I wear. In this look I’m wearing a tattoo bracelet inspired by the ’90s and cat-eye glasses reminiscent of the ’50s. I have a deep admiration for the past and the wonderful ideas it has brought us, but I love to keep it modern and fun by adding a statement necklace on occasion.
I have always been a sucker for A-line dresses. There is something about the flow and structure of the skirt that makes me feel like a professional princess. Growing up in the South, I’ve been stricken with not only some pretty hot summers, but springs as well and I learned pretty quickly that dresses are not exclusive to special occasions and that everyone owns something denim. I find myself looking through the meadow of florals and textures that have made my closet what it is today, and I’ve found that it is half full of dresses for every season. I hope you stay up-to-date on all of my stylish adventures!
