Hello, there! My name is Emily Harris and I happen to be your Monday Style Guru here on CollegeFashionista for the duration of summer. That means, beyond my usual word vomit of lattes, French Bulldogs, and Tumblr GIFs, I will be enlightening you about my other passion: fashion.
This is my first time interning with CollegeFashionista and I could not be more excited. A rising sophomore at New York University for a prospective double major in Journalism and Politics, fashion plays an important role in my everyday life. Living in the Big Apple, style and comfort have to find a happy medium. The recent athleisure trend is a great example of this. Wearing my favorite pair of black, quilted slip-on sneakers not only make my feet happy, but allow me to seamlessly follow the current trend while still getting to where I need to be.
While I tend to spend most of my recent days in sneakers, dresses are my biggest obsession. Dresses with combat boots, wedges, sandals, flats, and even sneakers are my ultimate summer ensemble. Ninety percent of my closet is dresses, and still, when I go shopping, I tend to come home with at least a few new ones. My favorite combination is a lace, girly dress mixed with a leather jacket, topped off with my Nike sneakers is a perfect outfit for running late to class or exploring SoHo.
Aside from my extreme obsession with dresses and sneakers, my passion for fashion has always been embedded in my creative endeavors. I blog, Youtube, Instagram and Tweet about my personal style. In my free time, you can find me covered in paint, drowning in a pile of crumpled notebook paper, or surrounded by at least five different camera lenses.
I guess in short, I am 19Â years old and still trying to figure out where exactly I am headed. I may not know my exact destination, but I know that with a little help from caffeine (hello latte art?!), Ed Westwick’s accents, online shopping and late-night Netflix binges, I will end up exactly where I need to be. With that Fashionistas/os, here’s to a great summer filled with chic and trendy articles that I hope you will enjoy as much I will enjoy creating them!
