STYLE GURU BIO: Julianne Cavanaugh

Hi there, Fashionistas/os! My name is Julianne and I am a senior at James Madison University with a major in Public Relations. I’ve recently started following CollegeFashionista and felt it would be a fun and stylish challenge for this summer!

Ever since I was a toddler, I loved fashion and the freedom of being able to dress however I wanted to. I carried this love of fashion with me throughout my life and now into my college career. Walking around campus has always been a source of inspiration to me because someone is always wearing something unique that I can recreate in my own way! Shopping is one of my favorite activities and I love to find unique pieces from boutiques that no one has. Honestly though, the best part of fashion is putting on that perfect outfit and feeling like you can conquer the world!

As a Public Relations major, there are so many opportunities to get involved in with fashion. Growing up when I was aspiring to be in the fashion world, I didn’t think there was much opportunity for a girl like me, who wasn’t destined to be a designer. When I started looking for internships last year, I discovered that there are endless options in fashion and PR, which led me to my first internship with Karla Otto. I really learned the fashion industry and it helped solidify my belief that I belonged in the fashion world.

As for this summer, I am taking on another PR internship with Media Craft. I am excited to see where it leads me in fashion and PR, but most importantly it gives me the opportunity to work in New York City again! I am thrilled to be surrounded by people who have the same passions as I do, and to experience how each individual expresses themselves through their wardrobe.

Like the outfit I chose to wear above, I love fun pieces that make you stand out! To find something similar I wore printed pants, a simple tank top and simple jewelry.

I am so excited to be able to blog this summer through CollegeFashionista and see where this fashionable journey takes me!
