Every little girl usually has an obsession over something; whether its dolls, building things or Nick Jonas. Mine happened to be writing and drawing outfits that I saw on television. It became a hobby of mine to notice characters’ outfits on television shows and I was instantly obsessed with the dynamics of the fashion each character represented, that I started to draw out their outfits, combine the different pieces of drawings I had and write about how the outfits made me feel and what my favorite items were. At the end of my 7th grade year, my “magazine,” which I named Cool Designs was complete, and Miley Cyrus made her debut cameo on my cover, as she was my biggest fashion inspiration at that age.
My love for fashion continued to grow and every time I went to the grocery store. I would always have two dollars and 99 cents to purchase Teen Vogue and to this day, my collection and love for the magazine has burst forth. When The Hills came on and I watched Lauren Conrad as an intern for Teen Vogue, I knew I wanted to follow suit her steps. To this day, I still follow her blog and have collected all of the books she has ever written.
Long story short, looking back at these little hobbies of mine, I realize fashion is something that has always sparked a light in my heart. In high school, I was always one of those people who dressed up no matter what, even during finals week. My style has been commended as eccentric because I tend to add my own twist to clothes that you would not otherwise think as fashionable. I am beyond thrilled to work with CollegeFashionista because it gives me the chance not only to showcase my multi-dimensional style, but also the exceptional Fashionistas/os that strut around the diverse campus of Georgia State University.
Walking around Georgia State allows you to discover a multitude of styles that students from all types of backgrounds carry. I am excited to learn more about what inspires these city peeps, expand my fashion senses and hopefully make long lasting networks!
