Hello everyone! My name is Kathy Wilbourne and I have just completed my sophomore year at Lyon College where I am a business major with an art minor, a sister of the Chi Omicron sorority and a cheerleader. I am addicted to tall shoes, specifically heels around five inches, colorful lipstick and everything Juicy Couture. I can be a bit of a shopaholic, but I never pay full price. I, along with many of my fellow students, are quite frankly too broke for that. I am an avid believer in sales, the clearance rack and never paying more than 50 dollar for a pair of jeans.
I don’t have much experience in fashion, other than the fact that I have loved it since I was 12 years old. All the way up until my sixth grade year, I attended private schools, which, of course, required school uniforms. When my family and I moved, I finally had the freedom to express myself in a way I never could before.
I don’t have a set style, and it’s something new for me everyday. One day I may wear a navy pleated skirt with a white blouse, and the next day I’ll wear a summer dress with combat boots. I go through miniature phases where I am obsessed with a specific outfit, which right now includes crop tops and high-waisted shorts or pairing graphic T-shirts with long skirts. However, some pieces, such as blazers and pearls, will always stay in my wardrobe.
I’m so excited to be a Style Guru this summer and get my first hands-on experience in the fashion industry. Being able to take steps to accomplish goals I set for myself when I was merely twelve years old is truly wonderful. I am thankful for everyone who has supported me and I hope I can write something that you all can enjoy!
