Hello Fashionistas/os! My name is Emily Catalfamo, and I’m a rising junior Communication Studies major and Dance minor at Gallaudet University. This is my first semester as a CollegeFashionista Style Guru, and I’m excited to start this journey!
Before I begin to explain my look I would like to share a few fun facts about me: 1. I’ve been deaf since I was 18 months old. 2. I know American Sign Language. 3. I can’t smell. 4. Summer is my favorite season. 5. Pepperoni pizza is my favorite food.
My interest in fashion started when I was a junior in high school. Looking good and feeling good are one in the same for me. As a result, I have a wide variety of clothes in my wardrobe, which range from laid-back in jeans and a t-shirt to being dolled up in a dress and heels. I change my outfit about three times a day for class, dance, special events and more! My favorite things to wear are patterns mixed with solids, dresses and combat boots. Year-round my must-have essential is my black leather jacket.
I have a keen eye for picking colors out from patterns and matching them with a solid color. For example, in my photos I am wearing an Aztec print shirt with pink, blue, white, black and yellow. Then I chose my yellow skirt as a bold color to make the outfit pop more. After that I threw on some jewelry and nude pumps.
