Hello, fellow Fashionistas and Fashionistos! My name is Gali Ella Deutsch, but you can call me Ella. I am a senior at University of Central Florida, majoring in English and Mass Communications. I am beyond excited to be a Style Guru this summer, and I cannot wait to hit the streets in search of the stylish people in town.
Summer is here and there is nothing I enjoy more than seeing old friends, stalking the latest trends and traveling all over. A self-proclaimed “nomad”, I am always looking for a new adventure, not only in life, but in style as well. I thrive on pulling pieces from unexpected sources (more often than not my mother’s closet) and reinventing their story. I love messing around with my sewing machine, and seeing if I can breathe life back into a dated pair of overalls, with a few snips and some tribal prints.
Often described as where the ‘90s came to die, my closet points towards the grungier end of the spectrum. Respectively, I live for comfort and by comfort I don’t mean sweatpants and a ratty Nirvana T-shirt. Just give me a sack dress and a pair of lace-up boots, and the possibilities are endless. Whether it be a day at the beach, Sunday brunch or date night with the beau, there’s a sense of freedom in being able to throw on an essentially shapeless frock that goes beyond masking a food baby, although that is a solid benefit.
I can already tell this summer is going to be one filled with new friends and chic trends as I combine my love for style and writing.
Ready to be inspired? Me too. Check in every Monday for a burst of passion from South Florida’s snazziest Fashionistas/os.
