Hello Fashionistas/os! My name is Madison Foshee, and I am a Style Guru for the University of Arkansas. I start school there in the fall and will be majoring in Apparel Merchandising and Product Development. This is my first internship with CollegeFashionista, and I couldn’t be more excited!
Because my mom had always dreamed of becoming a fashion designer, an interest in fashion had come pretty naturally to me. I basically grew up in a shopping mall. If I ever left the house with a terrible outfit on, it would ruin my whole day. Even as a child I knew fashion was an important aspect of my life. It is a way of expressing yourself through clothing, and that’s what interests me so much. You can tell a lot about a person strictly from what they’re wearing! I hope to take this passion and someday start my career as a fashion buyer or an editor for a fashion magazine.
To further my experience as a writer, I write for my own blog called Very Important Pieces. I chose this title because I share important pieces of my life with my readers. My posts include pieces of clothing that I want to rave about or it could be just a piece of personal information that I need to express. I’m very open and truthful, and I think that’s important in a society that constantly pushes perfection on upcoming generations.
My style seems to change daily, which depends on my mood. This past semester, I seemed to be gravitating toward a grungier look with a hint of chic. I like to pair my black skinny jeans with graphic shirts and a statement piece, such as a necklace or my floppy hat. However, I have a feeling I will soon be reaching for bright colored shorts and sandals every day.
There are some specific pieces in my wardrobe that I always seem to grab, such as this tribal statement necklace. If I had to pick the shoes I wear most often, it would either be my bright red Converse or my Sam Edelman booties. At least once a week, but usually more, you can catch me throwing on my green utility jacket to complete my look.
In the future, I hope to own an apartment in New York City and pursue my career in fashion. But for now, I will be blogging the fashion trends I see around Northwest Arkansas, and I’m super excited to share with you what I discover!
