Hello everyone, I’m Lex. I am currently a Fashion Merchandising student at Central Michigan University, and while the apparel industry is still developing in Michigan, everyone deserves a voice, and this is mine. Every Tuesday, I will be posting my view of the fashion world and current trends. I will provide inviting and engaging columns so that readers, like you, will want to come back for more.
Now that classes are over it is time to focus on spring and summer fashion; this means music festivals, beach days, and lots of traveling. As a Style Guru, I cannot wait to cover these events because I know they influence my personal style. My style is constantly evolving. It varies depending on where I am going for the day and how I am feeling. Some days I lean towards a bohemian vibe that is based on the music I am listening to. Other days I go for a chic, minimal style, which I’m sporting in today’s post.
Today, I am wearing a striped fit and flare dress paired with a leather jacket from Express. Although this look is all neutral, I added some color with red lipstick. I also decided to wear this studded belt from ASOS to add a little bit of grunge to the look. Lastly, I wore my favorite black boots also from ASOS. These babies are always on my feet; they go with everything and are quite comfortable.
In addition to my internship, I regularly update my personal style blog, ThatChicLex. My blog has evolved with my style, as will my posts on CollegeFashionista.
During this first semester writing for CollegeFashionista, I am prepared to learn and embrace the ins and outs for being a Style Guru. As for my readers, I hope to inspire, guide and advise through the art of self-expression.
