Hello my fellow Fashionistas! My name is Jena and I am currently a Public Relations major at the University of Florida.
Though my field of study is not exactly fashion related, my love for style and design has always been a big part of my life. Being at one of the largest campuses in the nation, I find inspiration when I see students from all parts of the world going to class every day. Not only a town of academics, Gainesville also boasts an incredible local music and arts scene which gives it such an eclectic and creative culture. With such an artistic atmosphere, I always feel motivated to express myself through my fashion.
With temperatures increasing as we ease into the sweltering hot months of summer, I am excited to capture how people will be making the transition with their wardrobes. While many busy college students succumb to the daily uniform of yoga pants and T-shirts, I am dedicated to find those who continually make fashion a priority. Personally, comfort is very important and my closet is only stocked with pieces that I can feel relaxed in. I am always searching for clothing that is fashionable and also wearable for long days on campus.
While I am always eager to embrace new trends, my personal style would be best described as feminine and vintage. I love the classic styles that you see actresses’ wearing in old movies; I swear I was born in the wrong era! Though I used to dress more ladylike, I find myself gravitating towards folksy and bohemian clothing as of late. It is always exciting to incorporate new elements into your wardrobe, and I find that my fashion is still ever-evolving.
I look forward to the personal and creative growth that I will be experiencing this semester as a Style Guru with the CollegeFashionista team! I am excited for all of the fun and fearless fashion inspiration that I am going to find!
