Greetings, fashionable darlings,
My name is Loli Lucaciu and I am a Media and French double-major student at Emory University. As I am entering my third year of college, I am delighted to be part of CollegeFashionista as a Style Guru, especially in light of the fact that I will be documenting the eclectic styles in Cluj-Napoca, Transylvania, my beautiful hometown in Romania.
My passion for aesthetics and fashion began in childhood and was highly influenced by my Romanian upbringing. I grew up living with my grandparents and they were fans of folkloric Romanian elements as part of sartorial choices. More so, my family enjoyed arts. I particularly remember a time when little Loli, less than five years old and in the company of kinfolk, remained enchanted after a meticulous scrutiny of Impressionistic painting. I subsequently became an admirer of everything Claude Monet and these days I delight in spotting Monet-influenced touches on summer dresses or other pieces of clothing.
I played sports all throughout my childhood and it is no wonder that the absolute need for comfort translated into my everyday outfit choices. In addition, my bubbly personality influenced my desire to wear bold colors. The two combined have been essential in most of my outfits. As I grew older and started perusing fashion magazines, I observed that experts supported this type of colorful comfort; I was thus encouraged to continue on the same streak. As I finished high school, I attended prom in a bright neon dress, courtesy of Urban Outfitters. The dress fully expressed my personality and I felt more comfortable than ever.
My style is in continual development and I allow myself to be influenced by the aesthetics around me. College life opened many new doors for me and I was lucky to be part of fashion-related projects in the Atlanta area that introduced me to creative mavens whose expertise proved instrumental to my sense of style. As I continue to indulge in my pleasure for fashion, I am enthusiastic to be walking hand-in-hand with CollegeFashionista and ingenious style connoisseurs promenading the streets of Europe.
