Growing up, I remember taking a sneak peek through my mother’s door, admiring every detail of her outfit. She would wear the most perfect outfits and I would think to myself, “When can I start dressing up?” One day, in a rush to grow up, while my mother was downstairs preparing a meal, I took a chance that I never regretted. This was the day my mother walked up the stairs and saw me standing there, as a four-year-old little girl, with an oversized pink top with lace at the hem. Along with the top was a huge white skirt and high blue heels (that I almost fell on my face in). From that day on, was the day I declared myself a “Fashionista.” I guess there is a reason why today, I got the opportunity of being able to intern for CollegeFashionista.
Hey beauties! My name is Simran Bahl and I currently attend Middlesex County College as a Business student. I am a goal digger, and have dreams to one day be as successful as all of the other Fashionistas who are a part of this internship hope to be. I am looking forward to gaining knowledge and experience and becoming an even better writer. I believe that no matter how knowledgeable you may be, there is always room for improvement.
I am a Fashionista who does not follow trends, but has her own style. Generally, I do not have one style because I find beauty in everything. I believe that it is what you feel confident in that makes you look trendy, not necessarily the outfit. I have always enjoyed putting my friend’s and family’s outfits together; I am, per say, the go-to girl. Helping friends shop is a breeze for me because I have a knack in knowing what looks good. I believe that fashion is evolving every second, but it is how you put together an outfit that makes you feel beautiful.
My pictures are a perfect example of an outfit that has been carefully put together. I enjoy dressing up and I enjoy dressing others up. I have put together a black crop top with a trendy pair of high-waisted elephant tribal printed pants. I wanted to emphasize my waist with the wide elastic band. The solid color of the shirt with the printed paints makes a perfect contrast. I have also added on a fringe Steve Madden cross-body bag with the gold chain and a black statement hat which I enjoy wearing on a daily basis.
I feel that I have won the jackpot because not only do I enjoy the beauty of fashion, clothing and accessories, but I also enjoy photography. I am the girl who is constantly taking pictures of anything I find interesting and versatile.
