Hello, there! First off, I would just like to say how wonderful it is to be back. Last fall, I was a Style Guru for the University of Wisconsin, Madison, but come spring, I decided to transfer. I look forward to sharing with all of you Fashionistas/os just how rad the summer style can be in the quaint city of La Crosse.
For those of you who aren’t exactly familiar with me, and even those of you who are, I am a major in English and a minor in Philosophy. I also write for a music publication, and I have my own student-run magazine on my new campus. I would like to end up in the Big Apple one day, pursuing my passion for writing, whether that be fashion, music or philosophy. I will write about anything that brings me joy and interest. Some more general interests of mine are collecting notebooks and sketchpads, reading Vogue, shopping, exploring and cats!
But we’re here to talk about fashion, right? I can say with confidence that my taste is continuously evolving but has kept an overall undertone of professionalism, with the occasional splurge of fun mixed in. One really good example I can think of is my love of flamingos! I have quite a bit of clothing with flamingos print, and I definitely plan on breaking out the trend again this summer. I also have enjoyed trying to shy away from the all-black ensembles that I would often find myself gravitating toward, as it has allowed me to learn more about color-blocking and working with patterns.
Summer is a breath of fresh air (preferably tropical), with the main focus being on the vibrancy of life, taking things slow and basking in the beautiful sun with the people you enjoy. Summer is also the time for exploring the vibrancy fashion has to offer, and I plan on doing just that while basking in the sun with the people I enjoy, of course. Oh, and don’t forget to include some ice cream, as well.
